NURSING REFRESHER PROGRAM
The Nurse Refresher program is designed to update and enhance the nursing knowledge and clinical skills of inactive registered nurses who are preparing to reenter active practice. The program addresses foundational competencies for medical-surgical nursing of the adult in today’s increasingly complex workforce setting.
The Nurse Refresher is the only South Carolina program approved by the SC Board of Nursing and has successfully returned over 900 nurses to the workforce, feeling prepared and confident to return to the current workforce.RN and LPN Nurse Refresher
These courses will be your first step back into the nursing career. Whether you have an active license or an inactive/lapsed license, these courses will provide you with the education and technical skills to return to the current workforce. The nurses taking these courses have come from a variety of employment experiences; some have not worked in over 25 years.
With the fast-paced and rapidly changing technology-based practice of nursing, these courses lay a good foundation to assist the nurse in today's work environment. These courses provide the practical techniques and theory-based reviews critical for the current employment opportunities.
The courses in these four modules include 196 hours of theory and skills. In addition, there are 84 hours of clinical externship in your home area.
An orientation will be held prior to the start of classes. The orientation will provide useful information about the courses and the completion of clinical documentation.
