Emergency Medical Technician Training

Jumpstart your rewarding career into becoming a first responder today! Greenville Tech has partnered with Greenville County EMT to teach the practice of emergency healthcare delivery to patients who become unexpectedly ill or injured. 

Following successful course completion, successful students will take a National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) cognitive examination and become certified as a South Carolina EMT.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • The course focuses on the role and competencies of the prehospital care provider and exposes the student to the many psychological, social, behavioral, economic and environmental factors in the health of individuals and populations.
  • Students will experience hands-on training in real-world scenarios with four, 12-hour rides with Greenville County EMS services. (Rides will be scheduled through the course instructor/clinical coordinator.)
  • Students will be responsible for paying for background check, drug screening, immunizations and physical exam. Additionally, students will need to purchase pants, boots and belt.
  • FISDAP Placement Exam is required. This exam is designed to assess your knowledge of prehospital medicine and critical thinking ability. This is not a pass/fail exam, it is meant to serve as a placement for this course.
